very handsome carved oak settle / bench by renowned cabinet makers A. Gardner, 36 Jamaica Street, Glasgow.the back, profusely carved with scrolls, swags, a Cromwellian style mask, swan and putti and lions heads, the base with lidded seat and further ornate carvings.
with normal marks / scuffs commensurate with age and use, this fabulously decorative settle is in good sound condition and not done justice by the photographs.
